We are very excited to announce that the bookings for our popular Summer holiday drama workshops are open. We will be using the St. Monica's Parish Centre, which has several spacious rooms for us to use, a large garden and play area, and accessible toilets.
12th -14th: ACTING
Three days of acting, devising, improvising and exploring classical texts with the wonderful Jennie Buckman, the former Head of Acting at RADA where she trained the likes of Ewan Macgregor, David Tennent and many many more. She is now the artistic director of Giants Theatre Company and is a playwright, director, acting coach and workshop leader travelling all over the world to run courses. We are very excited that she'll be spending three full days with our students, culminating in a performance for friends and family.

15th - 16th: PUPPETRY
Two days of puppetry with the fabulous Lowri James, a professional puppeteer who works regularly for leading children's theatres such as The Little Angel, The Polka and The Unicorn. Her own company's plays (combining puppetry, physical theatre and new writing) have received critical acclaim and were twice awarded Time Out Critics Choice. We are very excited to have her with us, passing on her invaluable knowledge to our students. There will be a presentation for friends and family at the end of the two days.

"Thank you for the most stimulating week-long workshop which our son Neil attended. He enjoyed every moment of it. Apart from the junior performance, which we enjoyed very much for Neil's participation, I must congratulate you on the 'space-time' show put up by the older kids. I came away utterly gobsmacked. The content and overall inventiveness was amazing and the confidence with which the kids performed quite astonishing. "
“The boys couldn't say enough about the workshop so thank you very much!”
“The children were clearly both happy and excited to be performing in front of their parents”
“Our child learns new skills and develops her confidence while – in her words – ‘having lots of fun, dad’.”
“The Playing Space offers something quite unique. This is not a 'production line' operation... there is a sincere appreciation of the uniqueness of each child's character.”
“My son was buoyant when he came out of the class.”
“Tania absolutely loved coming to The Summer workshops... thanks for making the time she had there so very enjoyable.”
“They all said the best treat they could have would be to do drama again!”
