Event Description

An event organised by Refugees Welcome Haringey to lobby Haringey Council to house Refugee Families

Enjoy drinks and food from the EcoHub cafe, and join us in the General Activities Room for talks, readings, and music, including:

Christos Papaioannou of Medecins sans Frontieres will reflect on his experience and knowledge of the refugee journey through Greece.

Rihab Azar is a classical oud player and Chevening scholar at the University of London. She was the first female oudist to play solo with the Syrian national Orchestra of Arabic Music in 2014. We are delighted to have her performing for us!

Sabrina Tucci spent three months in Hebron, West Bank, as a human rights monitor with the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI). She will be talking about her experiences.

Elfadil came to the UK from Darfur via the Jungle camp in Calais 16 years ago. He is now a top chef and has prepared food for celebrities and ambassadors. He returned to the Jungle last Christmas to prepare hot meals for the refugees. He will be talking about his life and experiences.
