The Campus in Trent Country Park is gravely at risk in that its heritage buildings, including several Grade ll listed features, are now virtually abandoned, owing to the new owner ACUMS of Malaysia having gone into administration some months ago. The threat of inappropriate development in the hands of a successor freeholder also hangs heavily over the 50 acre site.
The Campus lies at the heart of the park and loss of this cultural and visual amenity would severely detract from the park and its value to a large population of visitors.
The Friends of Trent Country Park have constructed a case to Enfield Borough Council to make these heritage assets subject to a Community Asset order. A launch meeting is planned on March 10th at 8pm at Christ Church Cockfosters, where a number of speakers will outline the case to the public and take questions. All are welcome.
