I sing with Songlines Choir and on Saturday the 16th of July we will be performing 'Going Home'; a celebration of twenty wonderful years of shared music making at the Union Chapel in Highbury.
We will be bringing you an unforgettable evening of our favourite pieces from the last two decades, from Gospel to South African, Maori to Mexican, Turkish to Native American and our choir leader's own Celtic folk-inspired compositions. All songs have been arranged in Sarah's signature style and in multi-part harmony, either a capella or accompanied by some of the exceptional musicians we have collaborated with over the years. It's going to be an amazing night of music, so I would love it if you could join us.
MUSICIANS INCLUDE:
Rod Youngs (drums, percussion), Davide Mantonvani (bass and double bass) , Laura Cole (piano), Yousuf Ali Khan (tabla), Joyce Moholoagae (vocals), John Martin (soprano and tenor sax), Kate Shortt (cello), Moss Freed (guitar), Nick Bowers-Broadbent (violin, piano)
This is what Time Out had to say about one of our previous concerts.
'Songlines makes unique music that reflects our troubled times; relevant, resonant and alive… Expect to be moved, exhilarated and hungry for (twenty) more!'
