On the eve of the Palmers Green Community Festival, the Vintage Blues Music Association would like to offer you a fantatsic St Harmonica's special this Friday evening.
The legendary Doc K's Blues Band, now in their 47th year, the finest purveyors of Chicago Blues in London, are our main act. Those who saw them on Sunday on theBandstand at Broomfield Park will know that they are currently on great form with front man and founder member, Mick Haase, on top of his game with great vocals, searing harmonica and biting wit. The Mad Dog, Dave Barnes, adds vocals and slide guitar with Simon Fowle on bass and Mick Parker restored to the drum throne. Some say their lead guitarist cannot be transported to gigs via conventional means and that his guitars are teleported to venues by the powers of thought alone! We just know him as Malcolm Hine, the finest guitarist around.
Also, we're delighted to have support from the Right Reverend Swifty Lazarre, twenty years out of New York, with his Dobro to play some acoustic blues at half-time. Rev Swifty will be bringing his full band to St Harmonica's on 13th September; prepare to testify!
See you there.
