Join us at The Step for an Summer Afternoon in our secret garden with The Sunshine Kings - jazz inspired by the music, singing & dancing of 1920s New Orleans.
Come and get your toes tapping and celebrate the summer with our snazzy summer drinks and fancy food in our secret garden... fill your plate & your tummy with our Summer Spread for only £7! Quench your thirst with jugs of Pimms and cocktails-a-plenty!
We are very lucky to have snared The Sunshine Kings who make people of all ages dance, clap, tap toes and go home with a smile. Great for dancing, great for listening, great for anyone wanting to have a good time. The band's repertoire is drawn largely from the small group jazz of the 20's and 30's with a few other interesting numbers from other eras thrown in to spice things up.
Run by Graham Hughes, a jazz musician with a name in his own right, The Sunshine Kings are very popular at jazz clubs around London and the South East, and have toured the length of England appearing at clubs and festivals.
"The Sunshine Kings gig at The Globe was one of the highlights of the week" - Bude Jazz Festival
“…everyone thought you were magic. All that effort to put on a terrific show was much appreciated.” – Tunbridge Wells Jazz Club
"The Sunshine Kings were SO SO fantastic the other night at the Hornsey Housing Trust AGM - what stars and true professionals they were"
"I had an absolutely brilliant time tonight at CJam. The Sunshine Kings band were fantastic. Haven't had a night 'that' good in ages. Wow!!!" - Chris Riddick, swing dancer
Nell do we have to book?
Nope - it's a free event! Just turn up and have fun!
You can reserve a table in the garden if you're going to eat too.
