The Stroke Association will be offering free blood pressure checks on Wednesday 3 May in Wood Green High Street as part of Stroke Awareness Month:
• 10am – 1pm in Wood Green Library (187-197A High Road, Wood Green, N22 6XD)
• 2 – 4.30pm in Morrisons Wood Green (High Road, Wood Green, N22 6SU)
Stroke strikes every five minutes in the UK. High blood pressure is the biggest controllable risk factor for stroke. It is estimated that there are approximately 5.5 million people in the UK with undiagnosed high blood pressure.
The Stroke Association are offering free blood pressure checks and information packs to raise awareness of the link between blood pressure and stroke and to encourage more people to have their blood pressure tested.
The pack is also available to download at https://www.stroke.org.uk/take-action/take-moment and includes tips about how to maintain a healthy blood pressure, and how and where to get your blood pressure checked.
