To explore the hidden histories of LGBTQ people and communities Bruce Castle Museum is hosting an exhibition: the Molly Spoon Archive. Explore the hidden histories of our LGBTQ communities. Look at artefacts, documents and photographs from Haringey’s LGBTQ campaigns of the past. The exhibition brings together the history of LGBTQ lives right up to the present day with the first gay weddings on 29 March 2014.
There will also be Molly Spoon making workshops where members of the public are invited to add their personal memories and recollections by making their own Molly spoon. Take inspiration from the Molly Spoons on display, including 'Stir Gently' made especially for the archive by acclaimed award-winning local artist Sadie Lee.
The exhibition and workshops are free and are open to people of all ages.
Exhibition: 1pm to 5pm from Wednesday to Sunday each week until 29 September 2014.
Workshops: 2pm to 4pm on Sunday 15th June, Sunday 29th July and Wednesday 27th August 2014.
The Molly Spoon Archive is a collaboration between Bruce Castle Museum, University College London and Tim Redfern. Supported by Share Academy, an Arts Council of England funded programme to develop relationships between London’s specialist museums and academics at UCL and UAL (University of the Arts London).
