A walk round historic Chelsea.
Meet at Bounds Green Underground Station at 1.30pm to take the Underground from Bounds Green to Sloane Square. We will walk past the Chelsea Physic Garden and explore the grounds of the Chelsea Hospital. We will see where various literary figures and celebrities lived in Cheyne Walk and Cheyne Row. Keith Richard lived at no 3 and Mick Jagger at no 48 Cheyne Walk. Daniel Gabriel Rossetti kept a menagerie at no 16. Henry VIII was secretly married to Jane Seymour at Chelsea Manor, the site of which is now occupied by nos 19-26. We can look at Chelsea Old Church, where there is a monument to St. Thomas More. We can take refreshment on the King's Road and get a bus back to Sloane Square. The walk could possibly be extended across the Albert Bridge to Battersea Park.
