Wassailing in the Community Orchard - 19th Jan from 2pm
If you have never 'Wassailed' then you will have a chance to do it on Sunday 18th January from 2.00pm, when there will be Wassailing in the Orchard. It is derived from an Anglo-Saxon word 'waes haeil' meaning 'to be healthy' and is a celebration to encourage a good crop by waking the sleeping trees and drive away evil spirits. It is an excuse to eat, drink, sing and dance.
