To mark the London National Open Garden Scheme, Haringey's non-profit veg box scheme Crop Drop is opening up its unique growing space to the public for one day only. Come and explore a beautiful original 1970s glasshouse in a leafy, secluded corner of Wood Green, one of five open on the day. It's a rare opportunity to sample seasonal produce, see where and how some of the organic produce is grown for our veg scheme, find out about volunteering opportunities and explore the unique 400-year-old-site we call home! Our head grower will be chatting about all things urban growing, regenerative agriculture and what we're doing to fix our broken food system. We'll also be answering any questions you may have about our veg scheme and we’ll be offering sign up discounts on the day. Wolves Lane is a formerly council-run plant nursery which has been transformed into a sustainable community food hub run by and for local people. Throughout the day there will be tours of all the growing spaces including Crop Drop, Wolves Lane Flower Company, Organic Lea, Edible London, Black Rootz and the spectacular palm and cacti houses.
Around the site you can:
Buy affordable, peat-free vegetables and house plants grown on-site.
Join nature-themed activities for children.
Enjoy a seasonal vegetarian lunch, plus tea and cake available to purchase.
We look forward to welcoming you!
