Today's Sun Newspaper has revealed that Bounds Green Road is the second most lucrative stretch of UK highway, they report:

Second-worst fines blackspot was Bounds Green Road in Haringey, North London, where 14,000 drivers were hit for £1,1,002,360.

Unlike the "Highest Performing" Road Southampton Row WC1,which has mant traffic wardens, I believe most of the fines on Bounds Green Road are generated via cameras.

We have had previous discussions on the site about the cameras on Bounds Green Road

Although its splashed as an EXCLUSIVE! its a pretty basic piece of journalism - analysing freely available data.

Hang on a minute, that makes an average of £785 per ticket. Yeah, right!

Very well spotted!

Looks like the data analysis may not have been very thorough?

Not thorough enough data analysis from The Sun? Surely not!

Tom, you are of course correct - £78.50 is the average fine... but in defence of weak mathematicians - the Sun story gives two sets of figures £1,002,360 in the box graphic and the incorrect 1,1,002,360 in the running text.

I am always happier with words rather than numbers!

Likewise! Oops.... ;-) And yes, I did get a C in Maths....
