One of our successful local primary schools, Bounds Green Infant and Junior, will be expanded to offer much needed extra  places after plans were approved by Haringey Council’s Cabinet.

Following a recent consultation process during which a majority of respondents backed the expansion Bounds Green Infant and Junior School will progressively add an additional form of entry in every year group starting from September 2016.

Demand for school places in rising all over London. Haringey Council's School Place Planning report shows that in the area around Bounds Green School, 30 additional places will be needed by September 2016. A second Haringey school St Mary’s C of E Primary School, Rectory Gardens needs 30 more places and will begin expansion from September 2015.

The Council report also shows that in the Muswell Hill area, demand is set to outstrip supply very soon, with two additional reception classes predicted to be needed from 2018. Recent separate consultation sought to engage residents, schools and the wider community on how best to provide the required school places in Muswell Hill, and the council will otline plans for providing additional places in Muswell Hill later this month.
