Come and hear award-winning Polish journalist and author of The Assassin from Apricot City Witold Szabłowski speak about his work ahead of his appearance at European Literature Night at the British Library. He is most widely known for his report on Turkish honour killings, but his latest book is a polyphonic portrait of contemporary Turkey, masterfully evoking the present-day dreams and hopes of ordinary people, weaving a story from their potent and mesmerising tales.

Szabłowski will be joined by Joanna Zgadzaj, director of Stork Press who have published The Assassin from Apricot City, and his translator Antonia Lloyd Jones.

Event is free but booking is advisable. Call 08024892244 or 075080996450 to book.
