Anti-social behaviour in the small "garden" in front of Passmore Edwards House on Bounds Green Road

Just wanted to raise the serious issues we are having the small garden area in front of Passmore Edwards House in Bounds Green Road, and which borders Gordon Road. Myself and another neighbour have recently raised serious issues with the council about dumped building rubbish, a lot of littering, anti-social behaviour including drinking, urination and worse. Absolutely nothing has been done about it. We've made Cllr Christophides aware of it.

It's got to the point that I do not like walking by it after dark. Last night, my neighbour who lives on Rhys Avenue tells me there were disturbances coming from there and the green in front of Rhys Avenue until 4.30 in the morning.

The small garden has recently had some gardening work done to it but the hedges are still sufficiently high that men feel they can use it as a public toilet. This odd bit of land has been an issue for as long as I've lived around here (11 years) and my neighbour tells me it's been going on for longer than that, and no council department seems to get a grip on the issues, which are now pretty out of control.

I really hope something can be done about this and soon! Any thoughts welcome, as we've emailed the council on countless occassions. I was told it would be cleared a week ago... still waiting. I've made a further complaint today and copied in Cllr Christophides.

Hello Sue

Sorry to hear about this, can I suggest you report any anti-social behaviour e.g disturbances late in the night, to the police non-emergency number 101. I used this number last week week for something similar and they were helpful. I think anti-social behaviour is ultimately the responsibility of the council but if they're not dealing with it you may need to involve the police. I'm pretty sure urinating in public is illegal!

There does seem to be a problem in the bowes/bounds area at the moment - two recent violent incidents and last night when I came home from a night out there were police at bounds green tube (where there had been a fight) and also police present on myddleton road. I suppose all we can do is keep reporting anti-social behaviour until it is addressed. One consolation is that the police clearly do respond to incidents, judging by how many of them I saw last night!

Keep safe everyone

ps Sue I've just seen a reference to the BG safer neighbour hoods team on this site:

http://content.met.police.uk/Team/Haringey/BoundsGreen

Might be better to start with them rather than 101 number, as I think the SNT specialise in anti social behaviour.

hope helpful
