BBC World Hacks: Fatberg hunters: Turning fat from the sewer into (bio diesel) fuel

Making something valuable from the fat that can get poured down the sink.

A BBC film by Nick Holland, published on 27th June 2017

Learn how fat bergs from the sewers need not be  either burnt or sent to landfill but turned into biodiesel at the Argent Energy plant at Ellsmere Port, Cheshire

Lurking in the sewers beneath the streets there are giant blobs of congealed cooking fat known as “fatbergs”. Their efforts may one day change perceptions of fatbergs – turning the lumps of putrid waste into a valuable commodity.
