Bounds Green station - down escalator closed until Feb 2014

Hi all,

I've been informed that the Bounds Green down escalator will be closed from 15th October 2013 through to February 2014, to allow refurbishment works. The up escalator was last refurbished in 2011, and will continue to run.

TfL has advised that customers wishing to avoid the stairs can use:

  • Bus 221 from stop BA, to Wood Green station (~13 minutes)
  • Bus 184 from stop BN, to Arnos Grove station (~18 minutes)

TfL notes that customers could also use National Rail services from Bowes Park station, though as one would have to use the stairs there I'm not sure why they see this as an alternative!

Hope this is helpful

Chris

what do they do to these escalators?? Seems like some kind of racket as I'm sure the last refubishment was after 2011.  Also, the refurb of an entire, larger escalator in Canary Wharf was done in a matter of weeks...
