Hurray! They're painting Bowes Park station - looks like they're doing a thorough job, too.  Unfortunately, the walkways either side of the station seem to be the responsibility of the Council.  I wonder if we can get the Council to paint their bit.

Hopefully, Govia will be placing some no smoking signs/stubs bins near the entrance to the platform to encourage commuters to dispose of the cigs. responsibly.

Does anyone want to come and help me sweep the fag butts away on Saturday morning and pull up a few weeds about 9.00am?

Here's a great photograph of the work in action , via Bowes Parker on Twitter:

It's such a handsome station.    Thanks for posting the photo, Richard.

Went up early on Saturday and gave it a good sweep but didn't get time to pull out weeds - may return early on Saturday.

I understand the bridge belongs to Network Rail and not the council as I first thought.  Can anyone confirm that this is the case?

It's a great shame that the wall leading up to Bowes Park station is not going to be painted as the guys are in situ and it wouldn't take much to give it a lick of paint.

The soft grey they've used for the bridge looks great.

I've been onto Govia and the Customer Relations Manager, Leigh, has been very helpful in trying to sort out a solution for cigarette stubs and appropriate signage.
