Message from Kate Franzmann Bowes Park Community Choir

Bowes Park Community Choir have sadly said goodbye to their Music Director Sarah Jewell.  Just about two years ago Sarah bravely stood in the very large St Michael's Church Hall waiting to see if anyone would come along and sing.   At the appointed hour we opened the door and stood amazed as about forty people walked through the doors.  Sarah nurtured this group and has left us with a permanent group of about 45 who proudly call themselves Bowes Park Community Choir.
For the past two weeks we have been treated to four very different potential Music Directors who have come along and worked with the Choir for sessions lasting 40 minutes.  Everyone was given a vote and the two candidates with the most votes were interviewed by the Committee and we are delighted that Patrick Allies has agreed to become our new Music Director.
We start our new term this week on 26 January and the doors open at 6.45 for a prompt 7.0 o'clock start.  Although saddened to lose Sarah, we are excited by the prospect of Patrick leading us.

New members are welcome to come along and try a session free before committing themselves.

I'm so pleased to hear about this choir. I was thinking of setting one up myself. Instead I think I might find ways of connecting people to activities already in the area. Often I find ideas I have have already been done! Would you be open to people of all ages joining you or would you prefer to keep it within your age group?

Hi Lior  - you should follow up directly with the choir here
