A message from Jim Friedman & The Friends of Finsbury Gardens; organisers of the Bowes Park Festival

Bowes Park Festival was a fantastic day... bigger, brighter, busier and better than ever!

On behalf of the organisers and the Friends of Finsbury Gardens I'd like to extend an enormous THANK YOU to everyone who came together and helped make it such a success. Organising the event is one thing, but making sure it all goes well on the day is another, and we couldn't have done it without the stirling dedication of those who helped set everything up, ran the bouncy castle, tea stall, cake stall, book and plant stalls, the giant kid's games and table games, as well as those who provided us with power and water and other invaluable services.

Of course the whole thing wouldn't have happened without a big donation from The Bowes Park Community Choir and funding from Haringey Council, to whom we extend our sincere gratitude.

Although the ethos of our festival is to provide as much as we can free of charge, the stalls do take some money, and this year we made around £1000. This is in no small part due to the incredible baking talent residing in Bowes Park, and the generosity of those that stocked our stalls with plants and books. This is a fantastic amount and will be put back into the pot to help fund festivals and enhance the gardens in the future.

Once again, a great big thank you to everyone who played a part.... and to all of you that came and enjoyed it!

We look forward to seeing you all next year... when we might have a surprise or two in store!

And I think everybody who attended would also pass on a huge and hearty thanks to Jim, Kate and all the friends of Finsbury Gradens for putting on another excellent festival. The pictures are fantastic and really capture the mood - cracking to see Bowes Park coming together like that.

Thanks again, and looking forward to next year already!

Best wishes

Mat

I agree Mat, the Festival was a lovely community event and the fact it it felt so relaxed and ran so smoothly is down to the terrific work of the team of people who organised it. Thank You!

I too am already looking forward to next year...

... but in the meantime here is a video snapshot of the 2011 Festival:
