Hot on the heels of the Myddleton Road Community Gym and Table tennis area we hear (via the Bowes Ward Labour Councilors blog) that a second pocket park may soon be opening on the New River at the North Circular road end of Russell Road. Councillors are working with Thames Water and hope to have something in place for the 400th anniversary weekend in September.

The location is actually on the culvert of the New River so no permanent structures can be  installed but there will be movable picnic tables and perhaps some green gym equipment.

It's great to see that innovative ideas are making the most of our local open spaces.

Things have moved on on this now. Enfield Council have looked at the need to replace some of the railings and the BPCA and Councillors have some ideas on how to improve this space and apply for funding from the Residents Priority Fund.

Caroline Simpson has delivered some leaflets around local streets and arranged a meeting for nearby local residents to look at the ideas so far and contribute some more.

This is a reminder that the meeting is on 10th February at 7.30pm at the Reiverside Community Church, Russell Road. See you there!
