The best musicians in the delightful setting of Broomfield Park playing from the bandstand. Open mic starts at 1.30, with the main acts on from 2.30-5.30.

This week, Sunday 3rd August, the theme is 'Slide guitar', that distinctive bottleneck sound that is synonymous with the Blues. Two of the greatest players in the country will be practicing that art: Graham Hine, slide guitarist with the Legendary Brett Marvin and the Thunderbolts provides us with an hour of his solo work, precision playing coupled with great vocals on his original and traditional material. Then at 3.30 to entertain you until the close of play we have the Customtones. Martin Fieber is quite simply Britain's best kept slide secret; why he is not a household name is hard to fathom. Not only does he make all his guitars under the Customtone label he also plays them quote brilliantly. With Mick Parker on drums, Terry Duggan on bass and Steve Taylor on keyboards they are all just top drawer musicians. Great songs laced with humour from Martin as well; got some dirt on your car? It certainly gave Martin the Blues.

Don't miss this terrific offering for week 1 (of 5).

The afternoon has a festival feel with a charity stall, a licensed bar, delicious hot food, and ice cream available throughout the afternoon. Admission is free - just be prepared to put a donation in the hat towards the musicians, if you like what you hear.
