Burst water main causes havoc on North Circular, again!

From Enfield Independent 17th October, edited with data at 3pm

A burst water main has caused havoc [again] on the North Circular.

One lane has closed on the A406 will long queues and delays at Telford Road westbound, in New Southgate, after the A109 Bounds Green Road junction.

Emergency repairs are taking place to fix the burst water main and congestion is stretching as far back as Kenninghall interchange.

Hazard(s) [Burst Water Main] - [A406] Pinkham Way North Circular Road (N11) (Westbound) Bounds Green Road - Burst water Main - Lane one and two (of three) closed westbound on A406 Pinkham Way/Telford Road & Lane 1 closure southbound on Bounds Green Road. (#63454)

As at 15:19 queues were back as far as Montague Road, Average delay 57 minutes

Bus Routes 34, 102, 184 232, 299 subject to delay and curtailment

Thames Water strikes again! Such was the animosity about Thames Water and their burst water mains along this stretch of Telford Road, I was told a tale by the main contractor of the road reconstruction following the approval of the Bounds Green scheme in 2008; of TfL offering to subsidise Thames Water to replace the water main in its entirety; Thames water reportedly refused the offer

Have just driven to Barnet and back (8.00pm). Traffic still horrendous and near stationary westbound on A406. Took 20 mins to drive approx. 100 metres.
