Haringey Council is led through a Cabinet System similar to central government In Haringey the Cabinet is a group of councillors who take most of the decisions about what the Council does. It is made up of the Leader and seven other councillors. The Leader appoints the Cabinet. Currently all members of the Cabinet come from the majority group – the Labour party.

Following Haringey Council’s full cabinet meeting on the 21 May the following changes have been made to Cabinet:

Stepping Down Cllr Lorna Reith leaves her roles as Deputy Leader & Cabinet Member for Children

Stepping Down  Cllr Dilek Dogus leaves as cabinet member for Health & Adult Services

Stepping Up  Cllr Bernice Vanier is the borough’s new Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Health & Adult Services

Stepping Up  Cllr Ann Waters is the new Cabinet Member for Children

Stepping Up  Cllr Richard Watson is the new Cabinet Member for Communities
