So with the festivities over for another year Its time to take down the decorations and recycle your Christmas tree.

Both Enfield and Haringey Council will collect "real" Christmas trees from any household which regularly receives a green garden waste collection.

Enfield will take any tree up to 6 feet in height whilst Haringey request you cut your tree into smaller pieces (maximum length 1 metre or 3 feet) and put it out for collection.

Alternatively, you can take your old Christmas Tree to designated sites in the following local parks:

Haringey are operating from Monday 6 January - Sunday 26 January 2014:

  • Albert Road Recreation Ground (Staff yard) - Bidwell Gardens, N11
  • Woodside Park (Staff yard) - High Road, N22

Enfield are collecting until 12 January 2014:Trees to be left inside park gate for collection by park staff.

  • Arnos Park,
  • Broomfield Park,
  • Tottenhall Sports Ground.

By recycling your Christmas Tree you can help to cut carbon emissions and protect our local parks - once recycled the the bark shavings and chippings are reused in council parks.
