Cinema Club for the over 60s

The next offering is the film LA CHIMERA at the Finsbury Park PictureHouse at 2:40pm on Tuesday 4 June. The cost is £7.60.If you’re coming for the first time, you’ll have to join the PictureHouse’s Silver Screen programme but it’s free and painless to sign up. This film is just over 2hours long. So, it should finish just before 5pm. There are a lot of trailers.

The Cinema Club will be moving to the first Thursday of the month starting in August. That way we can use the Member’s Lounge again. It’s now only open Thru, Fri and Sat.

Here is the synopsis:

Everyone has their own Chimera, something they try to achieve but never manage to find.

For the band of tombaroli, thieves of ancient grave goods and archaeological wonders, the Chimera means redemption from work and the dream of easy wealth.

For Arthur, the Chimera looks like the woman he lost, Beniamina.

To find her, Arthur challenges the invisible, searches everywhere, goes inside the earth – in search of the door to the afterlife of which myths speak.

In an adventurous journey between the living and the dead, between forests and cities, between celebrations and solitudes, the intertwined destinies of these characters unfold, all in search of the Chimera.

I hope you can make it.

Regards,
James Cowling
