Cinema Club for the over 60s; THE ROSES; Finsbury Park PictureHouse; Thurs 4 September

Hi all;

The next offering is the film THE ROSES at the Finsbury Park PictureHouse at 2:30pm on Thursday 4 September. The cost is £7.99.  If you’re coming for the first time, you’ll have to join the PictureHouse’s Silver Screen programme but it’s free and painless to sign up. This film is an hour and 45 mins long. So, it should finish about 4:30pm. There are a lot of trailers.

Here is the synopsis:

Life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Ivy (Olivia Colman) and Theo (Benedict Cumberbatch): successful careers, a loving marriage, great kids.

But beneath the façade of their supposed ideal life, a storm is brewing – as Theo’s career nosedives while Ivy’s own ambitions take off, a tinderbox of fierce competition and hidden resentment ignites.

The Roses is a reimagining of the 1989 classic film The War of the Roses, based on the novel by Warren Adler.

Michele will be the contact person as I will be away.  She will be sitting in the seats to the right when you enter the cinema.

I hope you can make it.

James Cowling
