A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
As the nights start to draw in, Haringey CAB are encouraging people to save energy, cut their bills and claim all the support they are entitled to for Big Energy Saving Week 2014, which takes place 20th - 24th October.
Haringey residents can get free help and advice on how to check they are on the best deal, switch tariff or supplier and take up help to insulate their homes and reduce their energy usage by visiting the free advice sessions run weekly in Haringey libraries* by Living Under One Sun.
By taking action to check, switch and insulate, consumers could make savings on their energy bills:
- £130 each year by making simple changes to everyday behaviours to become more energy efficient
- Up to £320 a year from insulating and retrofitting your home
- £110 average saving paying by direct debit rather than cash or cheque for your gas and electricity
- Up to £200 saving for switching tariff or supplier if you have never switched before
Lynn Hannah Haringey, CAB Chief Executive, comments,
“During Big Energy Saving Week we’ll be promoting ways that consumers can check, switch and insulate to bring their energy costs down. We’re keen to make sure that no-one pays a penny more than they need to on energy costs by finding practical ways of cutting their energy bills.”
Consumers can get help and advice online at www.bigenergysavingweek.org.uk, and by visiting www.moneywiseharingey.com/, find out more information about free advice in Haringey libraries from Haringey CAB and they can also join in a twitter chat #Besw14 during the week 20-24th October 2014.
A free booklet that gives detailed information about how to get the best energy deal has been attached to this post as a PDF
