On Monday I went for the first time to an open mic music session at the newly re-opened Woodman pub by Grovelands Park It's a lovely pub with great music hosted by local musician Lester Clayton supported by virtuoso bassist Mehmet Raif – who has often played  pub sessions around the area.

Tuesday was Buskers Night at The Step – compared by Amadish – another stalwart of local musicianship.

Thursday is Richard Lobb’s long running and much loved Toybox music night at the Ranelagh.

A more recent arrival on Thursday night is the monthly open mic sessions at the Bird in Hand on the corner of Tottenhall and Wolves Lane (anyone been?)

On Friday night there are the Blues sessions just north of Broomfield Park –at  The St Harmonicas Blues club which has a loyal following. 

What am I missing? Are there open Mic / music sessions elsewhere on other nights What about weekends? I think there is something at the Arts Depot – a 221 bus ride away?

Do you know of any places to hear live music that’s a brisk walk or in easy striking distance of our neighbourhood?

... and if we did fill in all seven nights of the week – who wants to join a seven day marathon.
