Age UK has been confirmed as one of three charities shortlisted for Morrisons Charity of the Year competition, worth a potential £2 million per year for the next three years. The retailer's staff have from now until 20 December to vote for their winner. If we win the partnership, funding will support the network to tackle loneliness and isolation among older people. Read on to find out how you can help today.

Morrisons staff have from now until Friday 20 December to vote for one of three shortlisted charities, including Age UK, to become the retailer's charity partner. This is an outstanding opportunity that could result in a lot of funding for our work and a high-profile partnership with one of the biggest names on the high street.

How you can help today

Although shortlisted charities are not allowed to approach Morrisons staff in store unless we already know them (otherwise, we risk being disqualified), there are other ways in which we can help sway the vote in our favour. We're asking Age UK staff and colleagues across the network to:

Approach anyone you know who works for Morrisons to encourage them to vote for us - and ask them to spread the word to their colleagues too.
Get your friends and family to do the same.
Use #voteageuk to get the word out through social media, and share and like Age UK's tweets, posts, pics and videos linked with our Morrisons ask over the next few weeks.
Share the postcards you'll receive shortly, urging everyone to help us win the partnership.
Sign up to take part in in ITV's Text Santa Bag Pack with Morrisons (find out how in last week's Signpost Express). Although not directly linked to the Charity of the Year competition, by showing our commitment on 12 December, Morrisons staff will be able to see first-hand how passionately we care about the work we do.

Visit our dedicated online hub to find out more and please pass this message onto members of your staff to help us spread the word.
