The annual cheesy music festival of Eurovision attracted the usual polarised media coverage  over the weekend. However this time round we can claim a little bit of local glory...  The singer of the Azerbaijan winning entry lives close by in Palmers Green, She is also a near neighbour of UK entrant Blue singer Antony Costa - just arond the North Circular in Barnet.

The Dinner Diary blog site celebrated Eurovision by attempting the cuisine of each of the competing nations in the run-up to the final and selected Green Lanes as the Greek venue - you can read their blog post abot our local restaurants here

As I understand it the winning entrant has to host the event in the following year ... so does this mean that next year's Eurovision will be in the Fox pub? .... maybe in Broomfield Park if it's not raining?
