Excellent local Indian restaurant
Just wanted to share this splendid local discovery. Had a delicious and extremely reasonable lunch at the Madras Cafe, 4 Green Lanes, N13, a couple of doors down from the Post Office. My chicken jalfrezi was superb and my husband's vegetable thali was one of the best he's ever had! Much to be recommended. (www.madrascafeuk.com or tel. 020 8881 2123)

I would like to mention that the Paramount Indian Restaurant on the High Road in Wood Green opposite the bus garage is excellent too. I believe it has been in the same family for over 42 years..... so you could say they are locals. I ate there last year (2012) when visiting my mother in Wood Green, and I ate there in 1970 when I was 18. The food was absolutely delicious on both occasions.
