Fight the flats and the mass overdevelopment of Bowes Ward by Notting Hill

Notting Hill Housing Association are getting away with murder!

If they get their way - the area will be unrecognisable.  Their plan is to demolish classic 1930's houses and build blocks of flats, the majority of which will be 1 and 2 beds.  They also plan to build 14 Mews houses along a rear accessway sandwiched between Bowes Road and Broomfield School and dump families with children into houses which will have no windows at the back and step out onto a busy access road.

Most of us wait for the planing committee to raise objections.  By then, it can be too late.

The real debate takes place at the meeting of the planning panel.  The planning officers haven't yet made a recommendation and the whole scheme is still up for negotiation.

The panel meet next on 28th of February at 7.30pm at Trinity at Bowes church  Here is a link to the council's website about the meeting and details about the various planning applications.  Please take a look and consider how your local neighbourhood will be affected:

The full planning committee will probably be sometime in March and a further post will follow once a date is set.  The more people we have at the meeting, the louder our voice so please pass on the message

We can make a difference and stop these plans!

If you miss Thursday's meeting, you can still help by:

1. Writing to your local councillors. Bowes residents in particular need to email their local councillors.  If their councillors receive enough objections, they will act to try and influence the planning panel.  Bowes ward Councillors are:
You can also email the Planning Committee Members: http://governance.enfield.gov.uk/mgCommitteeDetails.aspx?ID=124

and your local MP david@davidburrowes.com

2. Sign our pettion.  This will be available to collect from Jag's Trophies at 160 Bowes Road, N112JG.  This will be ready to collect from Monday the 4th of March.  Please help in getting as many signatures as possible and then returning to Jag where all the signatures will be collected and presented to the Planning Committee

Finally:

My name is Nikki and I represent the Ritz Parade Traders Association.

Thank you for your support.

Fab - thank you very much - I shall look at this in the next couple of days.

Actually Tom we've been so busy we've other things related to this, we've not managed to set up the online petition.  However, I can arrange to drop some pettions off to you.  If you can gather as many signatures as you can, you can then leave the completed forms with Jag Trophies at 160-162 Bowes Road N11.  We've got another week or 2.  Alternatively, you can collect a blank petition from Jags?
