The work on the beds outside Finsbury Gardens on Nightingale Road have just finished being refurbished.  It looks great and there are many people to thank for this huge improvement.  Haringey Council for the grant that enabled us to get professional help from a local gardener who dug over the beds, added manure and compost to improve the soil condition and added a membrane topping it it off with bark. Sue Walker who helped with sourcing the plants and Clockhouse Nursery of Forty Hill, Enfield, Middlesex, En2 9EU were kind enough to give us a discount on their already very reasonably priced plants.  Sue and Chris and Jane were around to plant up the beds, Emma and Dean have allowed us to use their tap tto fill our cans with water o keep the plants alive and Caroline has provided notices to try and ensure the plants stay in their beds and don't go awandering.

Last time we planted we lost over 50% of the plants.  Some immediately and some over a period of time.  Could I ask anyone who passes this way, if they see any signs of bad behaviour around the beds could they please not walk past on the other side but politely remonstrate with the miscreant.  The money for the refurbishment has been provided by the Council and the community and the work provided by local people.  It would be son nice if it all lasted longer this time around.

If you live near and are able to give the beds a water it would be really helpful.  It is a dry area and particularly in the first year in their new homes plants need water.  Similarly if you see a weed do feel free to pull it out!

Well done to you all. Looks amazing and makes a real difference to the area. Delighted that our funding helped bring this about.
