We're in the process of planning a new kitchen and are considering underfloor heating.  Wondered if anyone had any experience with it (it would be the electric sort, not part of the gas central heating system) e.g. efficiency / cost etc or any recommendations of someone that could install it (and the flooring come to think of it!)

Thanks

Thanks Tom - its actually half and half!  The original part of the kitchen is on a suspended timber floor, then there is an extended part at the back which has a concrete floor.  We have ceramicfloor tiles at the moment but they are always freezing  - we're thinking of vinyl / lino to replace it.

Did your partner's brother fit the heating himself or get someone in?  I'd be interested to know how difficult / not difficult it is to install!
