Cllr Joanne Laban, Leader of the Conservative Group, said:

“John Boast was one of the founding fathers of Enfield Council and dedicated almost 50 years of his life to public service and improving the lives of our borough’s most vulnerable residents. On behalf of the Conservative Group I would like to send my deepest sympathy and condolences to John’s family and friends. “He truly was a great politician who did an immeasurable amount of good in the fields of housing and education and we also owe him a huge debt of gratitude for the way he helped nurture and support younger politicians as they joined the council".

John Boast's funeral will be taking place at 1 pm on Wednesday 1 November 2017 at St. Andrew’s Church, Market Place, Enfield Town, EN1 3EG and afterwards at the North Enfield Conservative Club, 278 Baker Street, EN1 3LD
