I just wanted to recommend a local garage - A1 Motors in Palmers Green (just by the bus garage as you cross the lights, across the North Circular, down Green Lanes towards Palmers Green).  I've been using them for years but the original owner retired a couple of years ago and they have been taken over.  I always get amazing service - they are really keen to look after local "regulars".   I have a very old car - the starter motor gave out recently, even though it had only been replaced 18 months ago.  It was out of warranty but they fitted me a new one for nothing and also came to tow my car to save me collection fees.  Also fixed a windscreen wiper motor for nothing - and they washed my car!

I am really impressed.
