A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
Here is a message from site member Caroline Simpson:
Young Ghanaian post graduate student, Edmond Atindaana, will be returning to Bolgatanga in Northern Ghana
and needs a camera for his AIDS awareness project. He will be staying with me for a week's 'holiday' before going home. Back home he runs a community project with some friends - Better Life Aid (see: www.betterlifeaid.org) During his four month placement at Plymouth University doing biological research, he has also been planning to start a project with:
"a priority focus on HIV/AIDS - HIV prevalence among population aged 15–24 years, and an HIV/AIDS awareness Campaign among the youth in Ghana. Under our health project we aim to raise the proportion of the population aged 15–24 years with comprehensive correct knowledge of HIV/AIDS."
He would love to have a simple digital camera which could also take short videos so that he can upload them onto a new section of the website. Any spare money he has will have to pay for his college fees next year, and he has asked me if I know anyone who could give him a camera they no longer need.
I can vouch for the fact that it will be used for this purpose. I could send you a detailed Project Outline. If you DO have such a camera going spare..... please do get in touch with me by e-mail.
Many thanks
Caroline Simpson
