We have often had discussions on this site about planning regulations - and their enforcement. Following on the heels of an invitation from Enfield Council to comment on their planning proposals, The London Borough of Haringey has now also opened-up their processes to public consultation

They are reviewing one of the policy documents that make up the Local Plan, and setting out three new policy documents, As they say on the council website they hope "that the plan better meets the needs of the borough’s housing demand, creates space for new employment and protects the things that make Haringey great."

These are important documents which will determine how Haringey Council assess planning applications in the future. The council’s Planning Committee must normally take these rules into account when making planning decisions on things like new homes, shops and other facilities, so it’s important they are right and meet the ambitions of local people.

There is a full public consultation running until Friday 27 March. You can view the full documents on the council’s website, or any Haringey Council Library.

Respond by email: ldf@haringey.gov.uk  or in writing to the address on the documents.
