I have had many complaints from residents about the council’s planning and building control service. Many of you have said that the service is not good enough and this is backed up by statistics in a report by Haringey Council. The report from April this year states:
Haringey Liberal Democrats believe that the planning and building control service that is being offered to local residents by the Labour-run council is not good enough. That’s why we have called for a debate on the planning service at the next meeting of the Council on Monday 18th November at the Civic Centre in Wood Green at 7.30pm.
We want to let the Labour council know that residents want a better service and to give them examples of the problems residents are facing when they use the planning service. For example, have you asked the council to take enforcement action against the owners of a building that does not have planning permission only for nothing to be done?
If you are frustrated with the time it takes to process an application, or the council has failed to deal with your complaint about buildings that do not have planning permission or you feel your views on an application have been ignored, we want to hear from you. Please fill in our survey and tell us about your experience of the planning service.
Best wishes,
