I have received an email from Haringey LibDems about this and thought some members may be interested.

This month Labour councillors decided to spend £3.3million on new computers and laptops for the Town Hall. This is during a time when the Council has made numerous decisions to cut frontline services like closing older people’s drop-in centres, cutting youth service budgets by 75% and reducing Council support for the police in Haringey.

I think the council have got their priorities wrong. LibDems on the Council have taken swift action and an official review of the decision is due to be heard this week. But they also need your help to demonstrate that local residents’ do not support this spending and to shame the Council into reversing its decision.

Please help to get the Council to prioritise spending on frontline services rather than buying £3.3 million worth of  Town Hall computers, by signing this petition today. Your support could really help to change the Council’s mind on this issue. Please add your name to the petition at http://campaigns.libdems.org.uk/StopHaringey'sITSpending
