A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
Hi,
My nearly (birthday on the 9th July) 14 year old son Ollie goes to provision at Heartlands High School in Wood Green. He is high functioning but they are in the minority so it is very hard for him to make friends. He is very lonely and would love to meet local kids in a similar situation. He is into computer games - has a Playstation 4 and Nintendo WiiU and other Nintendo game consoles- and into Pokemon battles. He is very kind and gentle, well spoken, with a wicked sense of humour. Not sure exactly how it would be best to go about him meeting like-minded kids. Perhaps meeting with them and parents somewhere or getting to know them through playing games on his Playstation. I'm sure there will be families in the same situation especially if they have kids with autism, aspergers or ADHD. It saddens me to see him so lonely so I've decided to do something about it. It could be as simple as going to Myddleton Road Market on a Sunday, for example, and see where it goes from there.
Thanks for reading this.
Best.
Dan Jefferson.

Hi Dan,
Can't really help you with this as we're only just expecting our first but wanted to say good luck with your search! Your son sounds very cool (I still love my Playstation) and he's lucky to have such a great Dad looking out for him.
Best,
Patrick
Thanks Patrick. Best of luck with your soon new addition.
Thanks Melanie. That sounds like a good option. We'll give that a try.
Best.
Dan.
