I GREW UP IN HOE LANE, ENFIELD IN "WILLIAMS COTTAGES".   MY FATHER ALSO GREW UP

IN THAT COTTAGE AND HE REMEMBERS THAT THERE WERE ORCHARDS OPPOSITE OUR

ROW OF COTTAGES (BUILT AROUND 1876 BY WILLIAM RANSOM).    I AM WRITING A

HISTORY OF ENFIELD, AND WOULD LOVE TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAS PHOTOS OF

HOE LANE (HERTFORD ROAD END) TAKEN BEFORE THE 1930'S.

Hello Joyce

Eastern Enfield is a little outside our core area  - but we may find somebody with a connection.

There are a couple of comments about Hoe Lane specifically, on a local history discussion here, and there is a site specifically for Enfield Island Village which may have access to more local history images.

If you have not already tried them the best place to access historical images is the Enfield Local Studies and Archive Centre based at the Dugdale Centre in Enfield Town.

Other local history organisations can be contacted via their websites linked below:

Edmonton Hundred Historical Society

Enfield Archaeological Society

The Enfield Society

Hornsey Historical Society

Frien Barnet and District Historical Society

Tottenham Civic Society

Southgate District Civic Trust

Good Luck - do let us know how you get on

I put out a message via Twitter to spread the word and Enfield Council have replied with this message:
