HO50s: Cinema Club for the 50s, BREADWINNER, 5 Apr, Bernie Grant Arts Centre

The next film at the Haringey Over 50's Forum's Cinema Club is Breadwinner

Synopsis:

Oscar nominated animation THE BREADWINNER follows the journey of Parvana, an 11-year-old girl who lives under Taliban rule in Afghanistan in 2001. After the wrongful arrest of her father, she cuts off her hair and dresses like a boy to support her family. Working alongside a friend, she soon discovers a new world of freedom and danger.  With undaunted courage, Parvana draws strength from the fantastical stories she invents, as she embarks on a quest to find her father and reunite her family. The Breadwinner is an inspiring and luminously animated tale about the power of stories to sustain hope and carry us through dark times.
