I had a similar situation a couple of years ago and found G Mantella of Green Lanes, Palmers Green very helpful
I'd reccomend them.

Reviving this thread - I've got a box full of old jewellery and several old watches that made their way to me through the family. I don't think there's much of value and only a few bits I'm going to keep but I'd like to get an honest appraisal of the rest so I can dispose of it properly.

Has anyone used Mantella for this sort of thing? I walked past today and it looks like they do this work but I've seen a couple of bad reviews online and their website doesn't seem to be working so I'd prefer to have a recent, local recommendation before I go, or for another jeweller to try.
