Education2Day is a local training provider
working with young people aged 14-16.

They are holding a Jobs & Careers Fair, on Friday 31st August 2012 at Wood Green Library, from 10:30am to 4:30pm.

Rob Garrett, Director of Education 2Day, says:

"With youth unemployment at its highest for years and the lack of jobs and opportunities for young people, it is important we do something to prevent a lost generation being forgotten.

We realise the negative impact last years riots had on young people locally. At Education 2Day we have decided to host a series of Jobs & Careers Fairs across the borough, as our way of promoting change and opportunities for young people. It is not all about jobs, it is about providing a source of information that informs change. "

The event has been organised by Young People for Young People with the support of Education 2Day staff and Haringey Adult Learning Service. Further details of the event can be found on the Education2Day website,www.education2day.org or facebook.com/ed2day.

In addition they will be giving away 2 mobile phones 1 for the 150th and 1 for the 300th person who attends and signs in on the day. The event is aimed at young people who have just received their GCSE results and are in need of advice, guidance and support to make the right choices for their career choices and pathways.

The event will see local employers along with training providers offer apprenticeships and jobs to young people. There will be colleges and training providers offering a range of educational programmes and work based learning opportunities.
