A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
We have learned via the Bowes Councillors website that the current operators of the former Cafe "Funky Lounge" at 111 Green lanes - (near the junction with the North Circular Road) have applied for a premises licence, namely to be open from 8am until midnight daily; supply alcohol 10am until 23:30 daily; and Late Night Refreshment 11pm until midnight daily.

Hi Cemal,
I would just like to add a comment here. Not too long ago Club Planet kept us awake until the early hours of the morning. When my husband popped in to talk to you about it you were very rude and dismissive. In fact your words were "it's my place and I can have private parties whenever I want to". I am not sure that this is appropriate behavior towards a member of the community. Newcomers to the community should be sensitive to their fellow neighbours.
It is not nice to have people wandering down our street in the early hours very drunk and loud. Our objection to the Funky Lounge is as Lindsey pointed out, another licensed premises will only add to the existing problems.
News from the local press: Enfield Police have officialy requested that the licensing committee should reject the application for a premises licence for "Funky Lounge"
The full press story can be read online; the application will be decided by Enfield council’s licensing sub-committee on Wednesday July 3.
Can this be true ?
Yep. I'll be representing on the night. You can guess what we'll be saying!
That wasn't specified at the meeting yesterday (morning). The panel simply refused. Took them about 30 minutes to deliberate.
But it's what we asked for so that's good.
what worries me is that they are spending a small fortune on the refurb of the building.....why would they do that if they were to get no returns
