Lineside Fire disrupts trains between Finsbury Park and Old Street on 13th June

From early on Monday morning great northern trains between Finsbury Park and Moorgate were suspended due to a lineside fire

 Description

The problem with lineside equipment at Old Street has been fixed and lines have reopened. Trains are now able to run between Finsbury Park and Moorgate.

Evening Standard story:

Commuters faced rush hour delays this morning after a lineside fire at Old Street.

Great Northern services were unable to call between Finsbury Park and Moorgate, with services cancelled, delayed or diverted from shortly after 6am.

London Fire Brigade said it was called to the station at 6.15am after a small fire broke out and cause some smouldering in a tunnel to one of the platforms.

Northern line services on the London Underground were also temporarily suspended, with trains not calling at Old Street.

The Tube station reopened at 7am and rail services resumed shortly before 10am.

Great Northern services were unable to run again between Finsbury Park and Moorgate from 10.30am, with disruption expected to continue until 12pm (noon).

Trains have been diverted to terminate at King’s Cross and passengers are allowed to use their tickets on London Underground services
