A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
I have just seen a woman walk up to the New River and brazenly throw in a blue plastic bag into the water. When confronted she said it was just some meat and she was sorry. When further challenged she walked off up to Whittington Road. Any suggestions as to how I can report this to an appropriate authority? I know it's not a police matter but after all the efforts of the local community to clean up and regenerate the area we all need stand up and be counted, even in a small way. Btw, it was at the beginning of the Enfield part the New River - the part that flows between Whittington Road and the NCR. Thanks.
Chris

"just some meat"!!? Who throws meat in London's drinking supply? Well done for confronting her Chris. I don't know about reporting. Thames Water have a 24hr contact number 0845 9200 800 but seeing as they no longer employ Watchmen to patrol the water I don't suppose there's anything they would do.
As an aside, good to see BPCA's New River efforts are linked up by Thames Water here and the New River Path leaflet is available as a PDF here.
