A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
We have written before about Play Streets - so I was delighted to hear about the new London Play Streets initiative from London Play
London Play will spend the next three years working with residents in over 12 boroughs including our own boroughs of Haringey and Enfield. They will be encouraging play on local streets - with the aim of inspiring nothing short of a London Play Street revolution. Play Streets temporarily restrict traffic to residents only, allowing children to get out and play safely, and for neighbours to get to know each other better.
Having supported many residents to set up Play Streets we know from them that:
London Play is ready to help you throughout this process. We can attend meetings, supply materials and help you approach your council. If you are interested in turning your street into a play street then get in touch and we can have a chat. Over half of London’s borough are involved in supporting play streets and it is a really exciting project for residents to lead on in order to support children and young people to play out. The process is simple and easy. There is also a pot of money available to offer further support for residents to add a special and unique flavour to each Play Street,
